US Office for UK Use

Samuel

Due to the exchange rate between the USD and the UK Pound it is a lot
cheaper to buy Microsoft Office in the US

Is there any legal problems with

1. Buying in the US for private use in the UK

2. Buying in the US for commercial use in the UK i.e. resell them in the UK

Thank you,
Samuel

it's not directly caused by the exchange rate, the basic price
is different. Tho' having visited London recently, prices for
hotels and restaurants would have matched US ones if they had
been in dollars not pounds! As far as private use goes, I would
say to hell with monopolistic practices and don't worry but
resale is almost sure to run into legal difficulties.

There is no problem in buying software MS or others, for use in the UK, from
overseas.
The software, leastways win* and Office* is identical.
Its nothing to do with exchange rate its simply that you live in rip off
uk - check out Adobe/Macromedia pricing $ = £ +50%
or the MS suggested pricing for Vista in the UK, compared with US
(amazon.com)

You can resell, but not as an authorised supplier.
