Usage of Project server with Windows XP

I have Windows XP installed on my PC. I have MS Project 2003. I want to
install MS project server on my PC. The first question is that is it
possible? If yes, then which Project server should i install. If this is not
possible to install Project server on the same machine, then i do have
another machine with Windows SP1 installed. So which MS Project i should
install on that machine for being used as server?

Atiq --

You cannot install Project Server 2003 on a PC running Windows XP. You have
to install it on a server or PC running the Windows Server operating system.

Thanks for the support.

I do have another machine on which Windows server SP1 is running. So can
anybody help me which project server should i install on that machine?

Atiq --

You need to install SQL Server 2000 on the server and then you need to
install Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 on the server as well. You can then
install Project Server 2003. If have that server networked with your PC or
laptop, you can install Microsoft Project 2003 on your PC or laptop. If
they are not networked, you can install Microsoft Project 2003 on the
server. Hope this helps.

For SharePoint Services 2.0, it requires Windows 2003 Server and i do have
Windows 2000 Server...So what i should do now?

If you want to use the Risks, Issues, and Documents functionality provided
by WSS 2.0, then you'll need a server with Windows Server 2003 installed.
If you don't want to use that functionality, you can use a server with
Windows 2000 Server installed. If you want to use the full functionality of
Project Server 2003, then you'll have to upgrade your server to Windows
Server 2003. Refer to the following URL for more installation requirements

I have upgraded my system. Now i do have Windows server 2003 and MS Project
2003. I am still facing a problem in installation of Project server 2003. Now
it gives me error of "W3SVC (World wide web publishing service" when i try to
install Project server. How can i install this service and activate it?
