Usage of Sitecolumns to fill combobox in Infopath

Hi,

I have site column of type "choice" with set of values. I want to use this
to fill a combo box in the Infopath form. (In a regular list in Sharepoint
the combo box appears, when I use this site column).

Is it possible to have the same behaviour with InfoPath forms? (be it normal
forms or browser enabled)

I don't think that is possible, but you could use a lookup column
instead and populate the dropdown in InfoPath using the lookup table.

The application is already live with many site columns of type "choice", so
lookup is not an option. Is there a WSS web service which could give the
values in the choicesite column which can be used from Infopath.

I don't know of any, but you could host your own web service in
SharePoint and use the object model.
