Use a stored procedure to return a xml file that will populate a drop down list

OK, im a bit of a newb to infopath(only been working with it two days)
but my problem is that on our server we have a stored procedure that
returns an xml file of our customers, however i want to make this list
populate a dropdown table, my question is this:

first how do i have a stored procedure run when the form is opened, and
how do i convert the returned xml file to populate the drop down list
