Use DSum ?

I wanted to know if DSum could be used for the following:

=Sum ([text174], [BenefitType],[ETR Only])

Which I understand to mean...

Sum everything in Text174, where Benefit Type is ETR Only. Yes??
Text 174 is in the details section, and Benefit Type is not a Header or
Footer, but it is a field in the details section.
