use existing report as a template for new Access 2007 reports

Access Options - Object Designers implies you can name a saved report as a
template for new report creations in Access 2007. Saved a report (no control
source) with logo and page headings and page footers etc. I made the change
in Object Designers but new reports dont seem to use it as a template. Any
suggestions?

Go to tools/options/form&reports and set the form or report as the template.
Then NEW reports will follow the layout of the template. Old forms or reports
will not.

No such options in Access 2007 as "Tools/Options ...". However I have
discovered something further ... I went back to my template report and did
something differently with it. I amended the (blank) details section to a RED
background and saved it. Now when I create a new report I can see it is using
the template after all. I thought it was not using it but it is! However !!!
- In my template I wanted to have a series of standard controls coming
through into new Access 2007 report creations - such as the company logo in
the page header and certain date / time / page count fields in the page
footer. They are set up in my template but they don't come through into new
report creations. Annoying really, I am going to have to set them up with
each new report - unless anybody can tell me how to resolve this. The
"Template" issue is answered as such - it does work, but with considerable
dissappointment.
