Use form to open new form and pull data from tables

I have a from that will select patients
I have a form with fields at the top and tabs on the bottom
I can open the 2nd form from the 1st form via a button
What I want to do is have the 2nd form use the key from the
1st form to pull data from the tables and populate the 2nd form.
How do I do that.
I am using access 2007
When I bulit the 2nd form I used form design and then used 'add existing
fields'
button on the command bar to pull the fields from the tables that I need so
that a relationship would be established.
