use groove for permanent file storage

I"ve read that Groove is designed to be used just as a temporary location for
files while they are being created by a team, or for a project while that
project is active. Then the files should be archived permanently in a folder
outside of Groove. Is Groove capable of being a permanent storage location?

I have a network that contains a shared folder with customer folders and
documents. The total size isn't more than 1 or 2 GB. I have a couple
laptops and home PC users that want this entire folder as a Groove workspace.
There would only be minimal changes to these files from time to time. My
question is, can i use Groove as a permanent file storage or will I have
problems with the size growing unexpectedly etc.

Hi,

Yes, Groove has the capable to store files permanently. As long as Groove
runs well, the files in Groove workspaces are safe as which saved on hard
disk. At least, Groove is not designed to be a temporary location for files.

In your situations, I think it's the best choice to use Groove. Folder size
is not too big, actually, Groove not recommend user expend their workspace
more than 2GB. Users of this folder are in a meaning number, changes are
minial. That's a prefect enviroment to use Groove.

Plus, whatever you finally choose, to store your files permanently and in
safe, back up data periodically is very important. Groove provides you an
ablity to distribute your data to many computers, that's another backup way.
You can also backup your local Groove data manually or use our Groove data
backup server to automatically backup workspace data.
