Apologies if this is a duplicate - I posted a question yesterday, forgot to
ask for notification of replies, and I can't find my original question!
I have a spreadsheet which, for each row, has a payment due date and a
payment value.
I then have a series of columns headed Sep-09, Oct-09, Nov-09 etc, and need
to copy the payment value into the column for its relevant due month.
I have tried using IF formulas but am struggling to make it work with dates.
The due date can be any day of a month, and the actual date behind the column
headings is 01/09/2009.
I essentially need a formula to say, if the date in column A falls within
the month of the column header (of C for example), display the value from
column B.
I'm happy to manipulate the data to do this so if there is a way of
extracting the month & year from a date in real terms (rather than just in
the way it's displayed), I could see that working...but any ideas welcome!
I'm using Excel 2007 and am pretty competent at formulas & macros in general.
If you have already answered my previous question I am happy to be referred
to that one. Many thanks in advance.
