Hello,

What is the meaning and the use of the following option in Project Pro:
Tools / Options / Interface:
"Use internal IDs to match different-langage or renamed Organizer items
between projects".
Thanks

Hello Robert,

From Project help
-------------------------------------------------
Use the User Interface section to determine how you want to handle
Organizer items. You can use the Organizer to copy project elements
(including fields, groups, calendars, toolbars, maps, forms, tables,
filters, views, reports, and modules) between the global file and
the active project file, or between two project files. Each element
has a physical name, which may vary between projects, and an
internal ID, which is the same across all projects. This can be
helpful when working with multiple languages or custom views.

Use internal IDs to match different-language or renamed Organizer
items between projects Select this check box to match project
elements in the Organizer by using each element’s internal ID. By
selecting this check box, you ignore the physical element names, as
they may differ between projects.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Whoa ! Fantastic !
How did you succeeded in finding something in the Project help? I never
succeeded in this 2007 version.
Didn't' you get some help from Harry Potter?
Thanks a lot!!!

Hi Robert,

You're most welcome Robert. Glad to have helped and thanks for the
feedback.

To find the help topic I quoted below, click the Help button in the
Tools > Options, dialog box with the appropriate tab (Interface)
selected. It will take you directly to help on the options on the
Interface tab.

No assistance needed from any wizards -- young or old :)

Julie,

I was working on the French version. Actually, the Help files are quite
different in the English and in the French versions. In the French one, the
Help is very poor and the translation if often very funny but not helpful...
Thanks for everything
Robert

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the feedback that the French help version needs some more
work. You're most welcome for the assistance and thanks for the
kind feedback.
