Use OE *.eml files or migrate to full version Outlook

I am introducing Outlook to a client who has been using Outlook Express. In
OE she has been saving *.eml files to local My Documents subfolders as a
means of more closely associating e-mails with other work, eg. DOC, PDF, XLS
etc.

Has anyone seen this system for organizing used successfully? I've not
encountered this before, and am under the impression that EML was designed as
a template feature, not an organizing feature.

After reading the knowledgebase and newsgroup I am clear that EML is not at
all compatible with full version Outlook and should be abandoned if a person
migrates away from OE.

Thanks for the advise,

..eml files are simply email messages copied out of OE...if she has that much
time, she could recreate the hierarchy like the one she has in OE but it
makes no use...also, i'd recommend migrating OE messages to OL and not
importing .eml's one-by-one
