Dr. John
I have a Word 97 SR-2 file that crashes on saving (auto or otherwise) and has
other problems. In the 487kb doc, I have used REF fields scattered throughout
the text to reference data selected from drop down boxes (dates, etc.), I
have pasted links throughout the text to check boxes in parts of the document
so that the image of a box located elsewhere could be included in text,
included tables using numerical entry form fields in rows of columns to
solicit data and embedded formulas to calculate the data in the rows above.
SOme portions of the documents are protected (for forms) and others are not.
When the document autosaves, Word normally crashes. I disabled autosave, but
Word crashed when I saved manually. SOmetimes the entire document vanishes at
that point from the directory. If I have a table of contents in the document,
none of the embedded calculations in data tables in the rest of the document
will update when I go to print. If the TOC is eliminated, the table calcs
will update on printing. Any ideas about what is going on????
