Use of Switch function

Hi Friends,
I am trying to calculate a value for a custom field using a formula
containing switch function and custom outline code and IIF function .The
formula is set to calculate a value if the outline code is some particular
value. All works well for about 15 items defined in custom outline field
..The formula does not execute beyond this limit. I have tried changing the
items in outline code and finding any syntax error. Can any one suggest a
solution

I believe there is a character limit (255?) in formulas. Have you
exceeded it?

Thanks for ur answer. However it is working for other formulae having more
than 255 characters. I will check it again.
