I am unable to print to my HP Laserjet 1100 printer from any Vista
applications. When I click on the printer icon to see what's happening with
my print job, I can see it, but the window header says "Use printer offline".
When I go to the Printer menu in this window, it has this option selected,
but grayed out (I can't change it).
I've tried changing USB ports (part of the problem is that the new computer
I bought has no parallel ports, only USB ports, so I bought a USB to parallel
cable and it's worked ok until now, except that I usually have to unplug and
plug it back it to get my printer recognized), and nothing helps.
Anyone have this problem or some suggestions? I can't afford to buy a new
printer when this one works perfectly well.
