Use v98 pst file in 2003

Joe

I needed to move my Outlook 98 data to a new PC running Outlook 2003. I
simply moved the pst file and opened it in Outlook 2003. Everything appears
to work.
1: I have subsequently been told that I should have imported the Outlook 98
folders into Outlook 2003, Did I do the wrong thing?
2: I now have 2 pst files- the one that was created during installation of
Outlook 2003 (which is empty) and the one that was originally created under
Outlok 98. Can I simply close the one that was created during instllation of
Outlook 2003?
thanks

No; Yes.

However, I recommend dragging all of the items from the old pst to the new
one then close the old pst, but your way will work too.
