Useful feature lost: Styles and Formatting pane, select all

Suddenly, I can no longer get the 'Select All' command on
the styles and formatting pane. I found it extremely
useful in tracking down offending styles inserted into my
documents by other contributors.
I wonder if the particularly horrid document additions
sent in by an editor who uses Dragon Speech recognition
software might have triggered this? They always contain
multiple style problems.
Any ideas on how to get this very useful feature back
again?

If you disable "Keep track of formatting" (Tools | Options | Edit), the
"Select All" feature is disabled, too.
