User defined function description

I am using Microsoft Excel 2002, VB 6.3. I have built
several functions and I am having trouble adding the
description for the function. I open the object browser,
pick the function, right click, open the properties
selection, type in the description, and click on OK.
However, the desription does not remain in the description
box. It remains blank!

Please help!

Speculation, since I cannot reproduce the problem: is the
workbook/project protected? Is it an add-in? Something else unique to
it?

If you create a new workbook, add a trivial function to it, can you
then add a description?
