Would you clarify some points please.

Did you burn these documents to CD-R using a utility AFTER having saved them
to the local HDD or did you save them directly to CD-R?

Have you now copied these documents back to your local HDD and you are now
unable to open them?

It is 300 pages .doc file i typed that research in almost 3 months in 2003
and i had that in my HDD all the time in order to save that file i copied it
on 2 different CD-R's and saved for further use. now i dont have same PC
neither i remember the Administrator passwd of that PC. i keep my HDD on NTFS.
I kept those CDs in locker and now i needed to review and further use. i
tried to copy them on my current local PC which i failed i tried to open
again failed. I hope i am clear to you.

Thanks

So it is now on your local hard drive and refuses to open still with the
same permissions error? Frequently, this error is thrown up when a file is
corrupt. What happens if you open Word and then use File, Open with Recover
Text from Any File selected? Are you able to open the file then and what do
you see?

No, it is still on CD and when i try to copy it says "word cannot open the
document:user does not have access privileges (E:\fileneme.doc) and when i
try to copy it says " cannot copy filename: Access is denied .. make sure the
disk in not full or write protected and that the file is not currently i use"
i am unable to copy it on my HDD or Open the File.

Thanks

Then it is definitely corrupt. The burn process must have been faulty. Did
you not verify your files were OK when you burnt them to CDR?

If this is a password for Admin problem, post this in the appropriate
Windows newsgroup.
