Is there some way to allow users to edit the content of secondary data
source xml files?

Thanks,

Hi,

One way to edit the secondary data xml files is:
1. Open the InfoPath form in design view.
2. Go to Tools->Resource files.
3. Select the Xml File which u want modify/edit in the Resource Files window.
4. Click on “Export†and give/select the location to which u want to export
it.
5. Open the same xml file from the above location to which u exported in
previous step.
6. Edit it as u require. And add it to the resource file with the same name
as before.
7. And check your form by previewing.

I think this what u want?
I hope this will solve u'r problem.

Thanks for responding. In this application, the user needs an InfoPath form
that he can use to edit secondary data source information. For example, a
form contains a drop-down list of company locations that is populated from a
secondary data source. When the company adds or changes a location, the user
must change the information in the drop-down list.

Thanks,

Keith

What I need is a user-friendly way that the user can edit a secondary xml
file, using an InfoPath form.

Have you thought about using a SharePoint list for the drop-down contents instead of an XML file?

Can't use a drop down list because the content of the list cannot be changed
by a user using an InfoPath form.
