User forced to Log-on to Project Server every time

A client is being prompted for his username and password for every WSS
component on a page each time he goes into Project Server. He recently
changed his Windows password. Now when he starts up Project Server he gets
the username/password dialog box on top of the Home page. He can cancel it 3
times and the Home page displays correctly and knows he is the logged on
user. If he changes to another page with WSS components the login box
reappears. The client has tried synchronising the WSS sites, clearing out
his Cookies and Temporary Internet Files but no joy.

We also got him to delete his remembered passwords (Control Panel > User
Accounts > Manage Passwords) but this hasn't worked either.

Any ideas?

Hi Peter,

have you checked that the user has the following browser settings
Open Internet browser, go to tools > internet options, choose the Security
tab, check that the WSS site is under the Trusted Sites, then choose custom
level and scroll down to the second last entry ( Automatic logon with current
username and password). Ensure that this is ticked on. This may solves the
problem
Hope this helps Mr Hanney :)

I assume the user uses IE 6?

Does the user have the IE discussion bar displayed at the bottom of the
screen? If yes turn it off and you won't be prompted for credentials any
longer.

Hope this helps,
Marc
