We have several tables that are Identical in structure.
The tables themselves even have identical names, but are stored in
directories with Unique names.
There is a link and some queries, forms, and charts of that data. In tests,
I have simply replaced the table that was being linked to with one of the
others (just copy it to the same directory, replacing the first).
The link seems to still work fine, even though it is, technically, a
different table.
However, having to copy a table to a set directory every time is a hassle
(and could cause problems later).....it seems like the link can just be
"pointed" to another location.
Is it possible to "re-point" a link like this?
Also... the User needs to be able to imput the Directory Name and have Access
use that information to "point" the link to the table in that directory.
Example:
Serveral Tables
c:\abc1\table.dbf
c:\abc2\table.dbf
c:\abc3\table.dbf
Access is linked to c:\abc1\table.dbf
User needs to be able to input a directory name (e.g. abc3) and have the
current link point to the table in that directory.
Thanks
