User Info is not transferred to business card template

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel After watching the video over and over, I have duplicated the steps, and have gone to more and more extreme steps, up to and including removing and re-installing Office 08. But I get latin gibberish when I try to use the business card template. Even if I type the correct info into the business card, only the first card is changed, and I have to change the other cards line by line. I know there's a better way. Any help?

Which business card template are you using? When you go to the Project
Gallery exactly what are you selecting from where? If you are using
something other than one of the 5 templates from Business Cards in
'Coordinated Forms' it will most likely not auto-populate with your User
Info. For templates from sources other than that you'll need to complete one
of the cards then copy/paste to the others.

Assuming you have used Word->Preferences->User Information to enter
information for each field used by the business card template (as shown
in the video) then...

Can you try the following after you have opened your business card project:
a. Edit->Select All
b. Right click, then "Update Field" (if you see that option).

If that works, then I would guess that for some reason Word is not
updating its fields when it opens/creates the document.

If it doesn't work, then try to reveal the field codes, e.g. using
Option-F9. You should see stuff such as

{ PLACEHOLDER { IF { USERPROPERTY Company }="" "Organization" {
USERPROPERTY Company }} \* MERGEFORMAT }

If you don't see that, then I would guess that you are starting from a
document where the fields have already been "unlinked", i.e. the fields
have been replaced by their results. Not sure what to suggest in that
case except perhaps "try one of the other layouts".
