User Issues

Hi,
I have a multi user db on a server. I have several front ends for different
functions. I have gone into the backend and created user accounts. For three
individuals that I have created accounts for, they all logged in (at seperate
times) with the wrong user name.
I believe the system went to a default afmin log in, because the three of
them get the same message. "Could not log on 'Admin" is in use."
I have went into the user and group accounts menue and reset the Admin
password, yet it still says that message.
Do I need to have everyone log out on the server? What should I do?

Are you sharing common front-ends amongst your users, or does each user have
a copy of the front-end(s) installed on their local hard drive? If it is the
latter, you may find that sharing a common FE is simply not possible.

Each user has a copy on thier own hard drive. For example: Joe, who works in
supply, has the supply db front end on his c: drive, as well as mike on his.
Both work in supply. Joe can log into his account under his name.
Mike can not. he logged in using the wrong user id. One that did not exist
in the user group. Now every time Mike tries to log in, he gets the same
default messege.
I tried to clear the admin password, while everyone was logged off last
night, but that didn't help. I am really stuck here.

Since this seems to be an issue with Access User-Level Security (ULS), I

I do not tend to use Access ULS (User Level Security) myself, but if this is
an issue of an improperly secured DB, try Access MVP Lynn Trapp's "The 10

Thanks for the links. I will try both posting in the other discussion group
and review in full the info from the link. I will let you know how it turns
out.
