Hi,
Sorry if this question is not a very good one.. I'm trying to use the
user-level security in Access to create two accounts such that one has
complete authority to change/add/delete anything in the database, just like
one has when one creates the database, and another account for data entry
that opens the database to see the switchboard and use the data entry forms
and related reports (some based on queries). When the database is opened, I
am trying to have a prompt appear, asking the user to choose which account to
use. If the admin account is chosen, a password would be required.
I tried researching on this feature and read the Access help files as well
as posts etc. When I tried to implement something under Tools -> Security (I
cannot remember exactly what it was), I somehow locked myself out of all the
databases I had created, even those in other folders. None of the passwords I
had set worked. This was resolved by doing something to the work group; I'm
not sure if I created a new one in the process. Is there a way to check what
Access work groups there are in the computer?
I'm new to security issues and any advice/suggestions on how to do the above
would be sincerely appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Regards.
