User logoff not responding - DSSNotification_R5 - how to fix?

When I am logging off of my computer at work I get the above message every
time and must always End Program manually. I have deleted Cookies and all
Temporary files, run scan disk program, and run disk defragment program and
continue to have the problem. Is there an easy way to fix it so it can just
end and exit normally?

As far as I can tell, this has nothing to do with Microsoft Word. Try
asking in a forum for your version of Windows.
