User permissions issue in project workspaces

We are currently experiencing a lot of permissions issues in our EPM
environment (MS PS 2007),mostly project workspaces.Workspace users seem to
lose permissions abruptly or the permissions get skewed in a way that
'project manager/design' rights change to 'readers/read only' rights without
anyone's knowledge.Or 'contribute' rights change to 'read' rights and the
users can no longer edit any documents.Even when changed back to the required
rights manually, users sometimes end up losing their permissions again.This
has been happening with many users a lot lately & is obviously a cause of
much distress to the users & administrators alike.Appreciate any input.Thanks!

One more thing - it appears that when making changes to user security in PWA
if a user is on a workspace with 'unique' permissions the are removed but not
added back. Just something to be aware of.
