User preferences file corrupt

G

gschweig

I get this error when opening some, but not all files in Word.

"User preferences file is corrupted. Resetting to default values."

I just uninstalled Office and installed Office Enterprise 2007. On a windows
XP machine.

What do i need to fix/replace to remove the error.

Hi there,

Wonder whether you got help with this one or not?

Anyway I also ran today in the same problem on Windows Vista Ultimate and
simply had to go C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\ and then
deleted both Templates and Word directories.
After that I opened Word 2007 and then all was OK.

Please remember to replace C: with the correct drive holding your user data
as well as the name of the correct user, mine being Administrator.

Please let me know whether it worked for you.

Thanks
