User Validation

Can someone tell me exactly how MSPS 2003 validates users
prior to logon to Project Server. Does it go to the
user's PC for the Windows logon info? Or does it go to
Exchange to validate. I am having problems with remote
users in Europe who are on a different domain. Sometimes
it works, sometimes not.

Mary:

When passing credentials the validation occurs in two places: the domain
controller to verify validity of the credentials, and the Project Server
database to determine the user's privileges in the system.
