UserControl in Word

Hi,
In Word when I open a document containing a UserControl the Word reads the
saved custom properties of the control, then immediately fires the
WriteProperties event of the control; however if I change any of these
properties later, WriteProperties event does not occur again, unless I
change some of the standard control's properties like Height or Width. Is
this a bug in Word?
I tried it in both Word 97 and 2002 with the same result.
