UserForm does NOT save changes to design (Excel 2000)

Hi all...

I am having a strange issue with Excel v9.0.6926 SP3.

I make changes to a UserForm's design (that I created when using Excel
2003 - just information in case this could be the cause) within my
version of Excel and when I click Save and re-open the UserForm, it
reverts back to its previous state.

I have found a workaround whereby I export the Form first to a file,
then remove the current Form, and then import the saved Form. Then I
save the workbook and this seems to save the changes made to the
design.

I must state that this issue only exists when I change design in some
way, from adding a new control to change the TabIndex property. If I
edit some code and save, the coding is saved.

The same issue occurs on my office computer, but I cannot confirm the
version number right now...

Any ideas?

I don't like that tool, first because it didn't work, but second
because it removes the layout of my code and all the comments - why
would anyone feel the need to write a tool that does that?!

I tried it all the same, and it still fails to resolve the problem,
still can't make changes to the UserForm design and save as normal (

I fully endorse Bob's recommendation of Rob Bovey's
CodeCleaner. I have used this tool extensively and, far
from ever experiencing problems, I regard it as an
indespensible element of my tool kit.

The fact that the CodeCleaner may not have resolved
your particular problem certainly does not imply, as you
assert, that it "does not work", but, rather, that your
problems have a different cause - possibly corruption.

And the changes that it may apply are configurable, you can set it to leave
comments, leave whitespace et al. It provides those OPTIONS because that
makes the workbook smaller, and some may want to ship as lean as possible
(keep a commented dev version, comment-less production version). Rob has
been around, he is well aware of what works and what doesn't.

It is a great tool, simple and effective. Only last week I was building a
project, and I suddenly started to get an error that said the End Sub was
missing, positioning the cursor between two perfectly well formed
procedures. A quick run through the Code Cleaner, and all was well again in
my world. The only 'problem' I have is that, because it exports and imports
the modules, it changes the sizing that I have setup on the modules, but
that is the system, nothing to do with Code Cleaner.

As Norman says, it may not solve the problem, but it is one of my
must-haves, always clean a project before shipping it.

Rob Bovey's Code Cleaner would also have been my first suggestion (with the
assumption user would use the clearly displayed options as required).

However I vaguely recall having a problem similar to what you describe,
possibly after dragging a Form from one project to another then back again
after renaming (not sure though).

No doubt there's a simple explanation but it might be quicker to rebuild
your workbook. Select all sheets and via a sheet tab copy to a new workbook.
Drag modules from the original workbook into the new workbook.

If that still doesn't work, repeat dragging all except the form module and
re-make a new form.
