Username and password no longer being saved in FP2003.

I've been using FP2003 for years and the username and password were plugged
in and forgotten for my few sites ages ago. Well, lucky thing I saved them
somewhere because all of a sudden, about a week or so ago, it wants both
fields EVERY time I go to publish one of my sites. And clicking the "Save my
password" box doesn't seem to do anything at all to save it anymore.

Windows Live (which I started using about a year ago) started doing the same
thing around the same time, which is also a nuisance. One of the MVPs
suggested I turn off email scanning on my anti-virus program (AVG), but that
didn't make the difference. Thought I should mention that in case anyone can
see a connection.

Thank you!!!

Did you recently upgrade to IE7?

You've upgraded to IE 7 and now FrontPage won't save your userid and
password when publishing to remote servers

First, thank you! ;-)

Second, two questions on the first half of the steps in the link:

1) It was requiring me to use https not http unless I uncheck the box there
that references this issue. It's okay to uncheck that, right? the steps
don't mention that.

2) I work on a number of sites. Can I just type each in and click "ADD"?
Or do I have to go to each site on IE7 and go through all those steps again?
Looks like just typing each should add them, but want to make sure I won't
mess something up if the site isn't showing behind the options I'm choosing.

Still not working. I posted how I followed the settings at
http://www.improventures.com/temp/temp2.htm
so you can see if I followed your instructions accurately.
You'll see that the five websites I publish most are all in there.

I thought it had worked, but then I rebooted to see if the settings would hold
and they didn't.

No, I mean that I made the changes in IE as you recommended (as I posted them
on that page) and they still look that way, but there is still the need to
enter my userID and password to get into WindowsLive each time I reboot
(instead of it just going right in like it did a month ago).

It just didn't fix the problem.

Windows Live uses a Windows Live ID, AKA Microsoft Passport. This is a
completely different system from IE and FrontPage.
When the Windows Live login appears select the radio the remembers your
email address and password. Whether this will work or not depends on the
weather and number of people on line at the time: in other words - random.

SO Sorry! I mixed up two different problems in my response.
Yes, I'm having a similar problem with logging into WindowsLive (checking
the "Save Password" box does nothing; it doesn't even save my email address)
but that wasn't what I meant to write back about. Apologies, Kathleen!

I meant to say that I saved all the settings you mentioned as posted on the
website but FRONTPAGE is not saving the User Name and Password for each of
the websites and I have to retype them whenever I want to publish a site.

(please see my reply to Kathleen so I don't double post info;
note: it held my UserID/Password for a year and now never does,
so I don't think it's as random as you say; I think something is really set
up wrong)

I don't blame you for asking, but yes -- over and over I've checked the "save
password" box and it saves neither the password nor the username.
