Hey

where is this folder in Vista:
c:\document and settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\MS
Project\Cache ??

I ask because my project leader has problems accessing Project Server 2007
from this Vista machine, but he can access via PWA...

So I want to navigate to this folder and delete its contents and the reboot
computer and then hope it solve his problems

where is this folder?

Hi Jeff,

the best way to find this folder is to open Project Pro ( on your Vista
machine ) and go to tools > Local Project Cash > Cash Settings. This will
open a dialog window with the path to the cash folder. You can then take this
info to find your team members cash. please note, this can be a hidden folder
in Vista, make sure that you can see all hidden folders.
AAARRRGGGHH sorry mate, I would check the folder myself, but I am at home
and cant access the project server at work.
Let me know if you find it, if not then I will send you the link tomorrow
Thanks

is it safe to delete the contents of this folder?

As long as you don't have any unsaved work, yes, it is safe to delete
the contents. Actually, I just delete the entire Cache folder as it
is simpler and more comprehensive to do so. The next time the system
performs a Cache action, the folder will be recreated.

Absolutely Jeff, just make sure that you close MS Project ( which in your
case i guess is the case anyway :) otherwise you will get an error message
saying that it cant delete the folder since they are in use.

Also, most of the cashing issues are resolved in SP1. You may want to
consider to update Server and client to SP1
Hope this helps
