Username\Password popup window in PWA

Hi,

I'm using Project server 2003.
I've encountered a problem in which some users cannot work properly
with the PWA because of a Username\Password popup window which keeps
prompting for their credentials. Those users are defined as windows
authentication users as the rest of the users but for some reason on
their machine, they keep getting those messages. They were supposed to
login without any request for Username\password as the PWA knows to
identify the users according to their windows login. Does someone
know what is the cause for this problem and how can it be solved?
Thanks for your help.

Is the Project Server in the user's list of trusted sites?

Yes, it it in the list of the trusted sites.
Any other ideas?

Steve Sanderlin :

Is the domain of the clients and the project server identical?
Does the web browser list the domain that is requesting the username?

Can the users sign in from different computers?

Hi,

Check the security settings under the Trusted Sites Zone. The last section
(in MSIE 7) is User Authentication. Set this to either "Automatic logon
only in Intranet zone" or " Automatic logon with current user name and
password.

I already tried it and it didn't help...

Thanks.

We ran into this issue with users who did not have XP SP2 installed
properly. Reinstalling the service pack resolved the problem.
