Users and Forms

We've developed a few forms (.xsn templates) to make a couple of approval
processes more efficient. From time to time, we will get someone who is
unable to open a form that has been sent to them. The only thing I can think
is happening is that they are working from old forms. So, this morning I
decided to do a test. I pulled an old template from the archive, copied it
to my desktop, and attempted to open an .xml for which I was getting this
message in the error details:

The element
'{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2007-11-29T02:18:59}myFields' is used but not declared in the DTD/Schema.

I opened the form with the archive extension (date version) still in place
and without. In both cases, an attempt to open the .xml yielded the same
error message that the form was based on an older template (which I had) and
InfoPath could not find it (it was on my computer), and with the details
above. Incidentally, when I opened the archive version, it automatically
processed the parameters for the new form (we'd changed one of the approvers
names and republished the form).

Any idea why InfoPath won't open the form?

Thanks,

I think you have to publish the form also.
Publish it where the others are and you will be able to open it.
If the filename is already in use on the server, then rename it, open the
xml file with notepath, lookup the old file name, it's in the first 4 lines,
then change it to the new name and you should be able to open it.

Did this myself when I renewed a form while old versions were still going
arround.

Eric
