Users can't see projects made from Project Pro

Hi,

Still trying to understand Project Server and now I have another problem.
I have a PM account who creates a project using the Project Pro 2007 (the
desktop application). Then I publish the project, and assign various
user/team members to different task using Project Pro. However, none of the
users can see the project when they log on to PWA, even if they have task
assigned to them (doesn't tell them of any new task). If I create a
project/proposal from PWA, that works fine, but when trying to use Project
Pro, its not working. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Jim,
If I get you right, there's probably two things you did not consider. First,
publish your project after having assigned resources to tasks. I'm pretty
sure you've done that, though it doesn't come out clear in your post.
Secondly, and more likely, you may have checked the "Show only current
Tasks"-Box in the view options on the My Tasks-page, which does hide tasks
that are coming up in the future.
I hope that helped.

Regards,
Peter.

I believe where Dale referred me to was what I was looking for. Regarding
that FAQ, for one project I was able to set the "assignment owner" and
"resource name" to be the same, so everything worked out. The users were able
to see the assigned task, and the project was even read-only if attempted to
be opened by another PM. Exactly what I wanted.

However, for another project, I am unable to set the assignment owner and
resource name to be the same. Regardless of what I do, the assignment owner
column is greyed out and I cannot edit it (its stuck on the project owner).
Also, the project seems to be accessible to any PM. The only difference I can
think of between these two projects is the creator of the working project is
just a PM, while the second one is a "master-admin" (suppose to have access
to absolutely everything, so I put that user into all the security groups,
admin, PM, member, and enabled everything for global permissions). Any ideas?

And to Peter, while My Task was set to show only current task, disabling
this didn't help. And the projects were publish (I initially forgot this).
Thanks for the input though.

I have been playing around with master projects and subprojects and
using assignment owner and status manager.

What I have found out is that to have the tasks go to another PM has
to be changed to the owner in PWA and then other PM has to log in,
open up the project, and change the Status Manager column for any
tasks that they would like to get updates. There is not a way that
the master admin can not pre-route the assigments..based on my tests.
