Users versus Resources

We are in the final steps of our migration to PS 2007. However I have a
question re: users versus resources.

If I have a resource (person) setup they also have user access. Is there a
way to setup a resource with the ability to update tasks via outlook and not
have them setup as a user on PWA?

Thank in advance for any assistance on this question.

The short answer is no. They need PWA access in order to get the
control and get updates. A resource is a person who is expected to
receive task assignments and update progress. A user is usually an
executive who has the ability to log into PWA to see the Project
Center, Data Analysis, etc, but isn't assignable to a task.
