Using 2 different pub versions

Lisa

I have a wesite made in pub 98. I recently got a new computer and now have
pub 2003. I am planning on adding a subdomain to my site and was wondering
whether I should stick with 98, or can I use 2003 without any problems. I
read the David B. article and understand there are differences. My main
concern was how the folders will be handled by the server. I am a little
confused.

Thanks for any help,
Lisa

Lisa,

You can use both if you want. When you install Pub 98, be sure to a custom
install and install it into a different folder, say publisher98, so it won't
overwrite Pub 2003. Also, it may be that Pub 98 defaulted to *.html files
when you produced your site, and Pub 2003 defaults to *.htm, so pay
attention to that. Both will work, but if you are writing any absolute
links, be sure to note the difference. Also be sure to back up your Pub 98
files before you convert them to 2003, as you may decide to go back.

I have most of my pages and sections in my site produced by individual Pub
files, so I can more easily manage it. If you understand this concept, then
you will understand how to use both Pub 98 and 2003 to produce different
pages, sections or parts of your website. Read David Bartosik's article
