Using a bitmap file as background for a form

S

Stephen Stoenner

I set the Picture property of a form to point to a bitmap file and then set
the 'Picture Type' property
to Embedded, which I assumed was supposed to store the bitmap file within
the Access project file, but, when other
users on the network try to open the Access file, they get an error about
not being able to open the bitmap file...
Has anyone else seen or heard about this problem?

Hi Stephen,
I understand that you could not open your Access file via UNC due to the
error not being able to open the bitmap file. You had set the property
"Picture Type" to embedded.
If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

What are your Access versions on both of the two computers? I performed a
test at my side with both Access 2003 and Access 2007, however I could not
reproduce your issue. No matter setting the picture type to Linked or
Embedded, I can open the Access database via UNC without any problem.

You may check if this issue can be reproduced on your other computer or run
Process Monitor to monitor your Access process to see if there are some
clues when the error comes out.
You can download the tool from:
Process Monitor v1.33
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx

Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions or
concerns.

Best regards,
Charles Wang

Hi Stephen,
Just a kind reminder, I have not received your response. Please feel free
to post back at your convenience if you need further assistance.

If it is possible for you, I recommend that you mail me
(changliw_at_microsoft_dot_com) your Access file so that I can reproduce
your issue and perform effective research.

Have a great day!
