Using a calendar control or date picker?

Kelly

Hi all, I am using the Office 2000 package.

I have created a "word template" that will be used by many
users across a network. One of the first fields I created
is a date field.

The problem is that several users are asking to make this
field more user friendly. As you start to type the date in
this field it looks as though the auto complete function
will work. Word suggests today's date but when you tab or
press "enter" the date is not entered because the template
is protected.

Any ideas on how I can make the auto complete work on a
protected field?

I thought of the "today's date" field but the date they
choose will not always be today's date and that option
will not allow them to change the date.

Possible ideas using a "Calendar Control" or a "Date-
picker?"

I have used VBA a little but I'm not sure how to make
these controls work...or if I even can?

Thanks for any help I might receive.

Hi Kelly,

You could use a technique similar to that in the Knowledge Base article at

http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...port/kb/articles/q198/5/61.asp&NoWebContent=1

but use a calendar control on the form rather than a combobox.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
