Using a content switch to manage many instances

S

Steve

We have many instances of PS2003 running on a server. Each has their own
virtual server, using different ports on the same IP. This is working well.

In preparation for building a cluster, we have a content switch to reroute
virtual names to this server/port (e.g the url http://PS2003AAA goes to
http://myserver:8081 and http://PS2003BBB goes to http://myserver:8082).

Project server is assembling the return address wrong
(http://PS2003AAA:8081). How can we overcome this and just let it show the
virtual name?

Thanks.

Check your content switch settings on redirection. Even if it is showing
http://PS2003AAA:8081, is the Project working this way?

Where the IP for PS2003AAA (& for PS2003BBB) configured . On your project
Server or on content switch?

It might be the switch not the Project Server which is returing that
address. If it is the switch which is changing the return address, then you
have to check its settings. May be you have to provide some details on your
content switch for us to understand its working in this scenario.
