Using a Excel for PC application on the MAC (.ini) problem

William Robertson

Hi,

I have an application that's been developed for the PC.
When it starts it looks for an ini file.
On the MAC, it reports that it can't find the ini file it's seeking.

I tried changing Excel general preferences have an alternate default
start-up location, where the app's .xla file is, but this didn't resolve the
problem.

Once the spreadsheets have been loaded, the Excel menu items that the
application creates for itself on the pc, have not been created.

Any ideas what I should do?

Thanks in advance wal

You need to contact the developer of the application. They have probably
hard coded the location of the .ini file which won't work on the mac. The
application needs to be changed to be aware of the platform that it is
running on.
