Using a MS Access Database on a computer with no MS Access

I have created a basic database with a form using Office 2003 pro. I
would like for a user to be able to use it, but they don't have any
version of MS Access on their computer.

I was under the impression that I this could be done. Is there some type
of "packaging" I have to do before hand?

Thanks

hi,
The user MUST have access on their PC to use you database.
think of access database as and excel file. you can't view
an excel file without having excel on your pc and you
can't view an access database without having access on
your PC.
have IT install it. be sure to address any licensing
issues.

Hmm... the anonymous post is not completely accurate. An Access database can
run on a PC without Access installed, provided it is distributed with Access
runtime. This has no cost to the "customer", but the developer must own a
Developer edition to package the application with runtime (legitimately), so
there is a (one-off) cost for the developer.

Please do not multi-post. Question answered in in the externaldata NG.

Well, you have the developer edition if you have purchased it separately as such. If what you have purchased is MS-Office Professional, then you don't.

Is there anyway to know if I have the developer edition?
