OneNote is a fantastic instruments for working with the same data on
more that just one computer. The "automatic synchronization" is a
feature I would love to have with other software too.

Main thing:
Keep the data files (notebook files) on *one* computer only. And:
Exclude the notebook-files from any synchronization (like Offline-files
etc.).

In addition to Daniel Escapa's article (to which David Olsen pointed)
pls also see David Rasmussen's article
"OneNote Notebooks on USB drives and SD cards"
http://blogs.gotdotnet.com/david_rasmussen/archive/2006/06/29/650705.aspx

Perhaps using an USB-stick for storing the data files would be an
alternative for you.

If any further questions, pls ask.

I've added my OneNote notebook folder to Live Mesh, and it seems to be
working fine so far.
