Using a Secondary Data Connection (SharePoint List) for Drop Down List Box

John H.

I have designed a form with a drop-down list that is populated with a
SharePoint list. When I identified the data source, I identified five
fields in the SharePoint list, they were: Name, Address, City, State, and
ZipCode. When I select a name from the drop down list, I would like it to
populate the corresponding address, city, state, and zipcode in other fields
on the form. Does anyone know an easy way through Infopath Designer to do
this?

Thank you,
John H.

Hi John,

Try searching for "Cascading dropdown in infopath" and I am sure, you
will get many references.
Apart from that, you can take a look at the following links to get a
feel of the functionality:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath/HA011177131033.aspx

Do let me know, if you need any further information.

Thanks,
Paresh

Thank you Paresh. I leveraged the information that you provided and
abstracted it to set up rules on the drop-down list to fill other text
fields. If anyone is interested in this approach, I would be happy to share
the process.

Hi John,

i need to do something similar.
I want to populate data in an infopath form from a sharepoint list.
Also, i want it to display values in drop-downs based on a certain selection.

How can this be done?

Thanks in advance.
