Using a table to secure a database

I am using Access 97 and Windows 2000. Somewhere I saw or
read about an example using an Access Table, a form the
displays on start of the database to check passwords and
logins. There will be only 7 users on this database and
that made sense to me. Is that more secure than going
through the securities in Access?? Can anyone point me to
where that application might be or get me started with the
modules it would take. I am fluent in Visual Basic but
haven't worked in 97 in a long time.

Use Access built-in security; it will be more secure than anything you build
on your own.
