using accents with PPT and Word

've never experienced this problem before, but about a month ago when I
would copy text that included accented characters in Word and pasted it to a
PPT slide, the accented characters come out like funny symbols and asian
characters. I'm running 10.4.11 and using Office 2004 for Mac. This is the
same machine I've used for several years and never have this problem. The
accented characters are from Spanish, so they are not unusual characters. Any
ideas how to resolve this?

Replied to in the Word group - Please don't post the same question to
multiple groups. It causes responders to waste their time responding to
questions that have already been answered & makes it difficult for everyone
- including yourself - to follow the thread.

If using a newsreader learn to cross-post if the subject justifies it.
