Using Access to query SQL Server across Web

Ok folks,

I am developing a web solution in SQL Server and upgrading from
MSAccess. The client now wants to use ms access to query the SQL
Server tables as they are used to this way of working. Can this be
done across the web using odbc or some other way to link in the
tables ??

if this is possible how can i do this and what are the security
implications ???
