Using AD to manage resource attributes

We are using PS2007. Our global resource pool is populated from AD. What is
the best practice for managing many of the resource custom attributes? Do
most manage thru AD automation or manually thru PS?

Unfortunately, AD synch doesn't not come with the ability to synch custom
attributes. MS claims you can create your own server side event handlers
using PSI to accomplish this but have not heard or seen of anyone doing
this. My guess is that most companies update this data manually.

There is a tool called ResourceLink by TheProjectGroup that is being
released soon for version 2007 that allows to synch custom attribute from
data stored in XML format.

Hi Newbie,

this feature is not provided out of the box, but thanks to the programmable
extention of Project Server 2007 called PSI ( Project Server Interface), a
developer should easily be able to develop this feature.
