Using an access database as source data in word mailmerge

I recently converted to Office XP. When I try to use my
Access database as the source document in my Word
mailmerge document, and go to browse to open the Access
database to use a query in that database as the source
dodument, it only lists 13 of the actual 25 queries that I
have saved in the Access database. The query that I want
to use does not appear in the list. In my previous Office
version, it would display ALL the queries in that
particular database. Anybody else out there encounte this
problem after converting to Word 2002 and Access 2002?

Hi Pat,

The problem has come up various times, yes. The most
"obvious" reason would be that these are parameter queries?

If that's the case, then you need to use the old DDE
connection technology to use them with mail merge. You'll
find instructions for changing the connection method in the
Word 2002 section of my website's mail merge FAQ.

Click on the "Mail merge in Word 2002" category and then under "Connection
methods", you will see "Connecting as in previous versions"
