Using an old plan for a new project - global change to dates possi

Is there a way to globally update the dates in a project plan? For example;
I have a plan with start date 10/2/03 and end date of 11/17/03. Can I
somehow update the plan b entering a new start date of, say 2/10/07 and the
plan automatically update all the other tasks dates and end at approximately
the same number of days?

Thanx!

Hi,

The answer is yes, but you will need some preparation.
First, set all tasks to 0% finished (actual dates do not change)
Then when there are no tasks with constraints, simply change the project
start date in Project, Project Information.
When there are constraints, and you want these to move along to the new
dates, you have to show the analysis toolbar and run Adjust Dates.

Hi Melanee,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Have you tried the Adjust Dates button on the Analysis toolbar?

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
